Shirley Jean Carson, 87, formerly of Dade City, FL, passed away peacefully August 5, 2022, in Kittanning, PA.

Shirley was a wife to Ray Carson for 55 years, mother of three, grandmother to six and great-grandmother to seven. In addition, she was an RN/Nurse supervisor for over thirty years in her community.

After retirement, Shirley enjoyed traveling with family, cooking (known for her famous shrimp salad) and reading. She was a founding member of the neighborhood Domino Group formed with her dear friends, Bebe Cain, Ola Brown, Judy Morris and Bev Dennis.

Lovingly known as "Mom", Gramma Shirley" and "Gigi Mom", she is survived by her children Kathleen (Dale) Scholz of Halethorpe, MD, Susan (Slim) Carson Bowser of Kittanning, and Dwight (Barbara) Carson of Dade City, FL; grandchildren Monica (Brian) Simpkins, Lara (David) Cooper, Elizabeth Shiring, Allison (Jared) Mechling, Edward Carson, and Patrick Carson; great grandchildren Timothy Simpkins, Ella Simpkins, Erin Simpkins, Nora Cooper, Bryn Cooper, Chloe Armstrong, and Cayden Mechling.
