BESSELIEU, Shirley A., 74, of Zephyrhills, FL went home to be with the Lord on February 10, 2018. Shirley was born on August 13, 1943 in Tampa, FL to parents Wilton T. Vierday & Lillian M. (Shell) Vierday. She graduated from Chamberlin High School and was a lifetime resident of the Tampa Bay area. Shirley married the love of her life, William "Dev" Besselieu, on December 8, 1990. Shirley was a caring, compassionate and loving wife and best friend. She loved to spend time with her husband, whether it be going on cruises or traveling and camping in their RV and doing family related activities, especially focused on the family children. She loved the children of our church family and as her health permitted, was active with VBS and daycare. She also loved spending time with her canine children, Minnie & Chloe, who embody many of her personal habits and traits. Shirley had many talents, including painting and interior design. She meticulously managed household finances and family birthdays, anniversaries and other like events never went unnoticed. Though she was talented, Shirley will be remembered most for her positive outlook and loving disposition. Although she suffered from many medical complications over the years, Shirley always remained generous and caring, never complaining despite adversity. She had a deep love for family, children, and the Lord. Each resident of Heaven has responsibility, and Shirley is most certainly helping care for Gods little children. Her husband is comforted during this difficult time by Gods grace and promise of their reunion, both bodily and in spirit. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her stepdaughter Kristi. Loving family who survive are her husband of 27 years, Dev; three siblings, Carol, Bud, and Bobby; one stepson, Bill Besselieu and daughter-in-law, Allison; three granddaughters, Alex, Maren and Brynn; one grandson, Benjamin; two nieces, Leanne and Christy; one nephew, Robby; two grandnieces, Analeis and Caris; four grandnephews, Jaden, Micah, Alex, and Jacob; God children Callie, Leanne, Lindsey and Robby; and many cousins, aunts, uncles and other relatives too numerous to list in Tampa, FL. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Zephryhills, FL. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow at Fair Haven Baptist Church in Zephyrhills. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the charity or religious organization of your choice.
