Obituary

Sherril "Steve" Stephens, 80, of Dade City, FL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 6th, 2024. He was born on Friday, June 11th, 1943 in Anniston, Alabama to the late Hugh Auda Stephens and Sybil Brooks. Steve had worked as a preacher, auctioneer, and many other professions during his life. He was a man of faith and dedicated his life to spreading the word of God. Steve was a loving husband to his wife of 44 years, Patricia Diann Stephens, and a devoted father to his five children: Sheri Fox of NC., Suzanne Stephens-Coronado of FL., Christy Slaughter of FL., Amanda Stephens of FL., and P. Nicole Stephens of Fl. In addition to his wife and children, Steve is survived by 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 18 nieces and nephews, and his siblings SueEllen (Eddie) Lee of AL., Linda (Mark) Lander of TN., and Francis (Rodney) Ballard. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Emily Blankenship. A funeral service will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home on Saturday, June 15th, 2024 at 1:00 pm, with visitation to take place from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Steve will be laid to rest at Linden Cemetery following the service. Steve will be remembered for his hard work, dedication, and commitment to his faith. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May he rest in peace.
