Sheree Ellen Houghlin, 67, of Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away on January 13th, 2024, after a courageous battle with heart disease. She was born March 8, 1956, at Tinker Airforce Base in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She graduated from L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, TX, and furthered her education with a Bachelors Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. On June 24, 1976, Sheree married Daniel Castaneda, and they had two children, Karen and Derek.
Post graduation and marriage, Sheree became a substitute teacher in Texas for many years. She went on to impact the lives of many patients during her tenure as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Arkansas and Florida. She was an avid card player and loved to volunteer at the library during her years in Zephyrhills.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Crandall, and husband, Ted, and grandchildren Hailey and Evie, of Lebanon, TN; son, Derek Castaneda and wife Jonya, and grandson Hopper, of Hartsburg, MO; Mother, Fay MacFarland, of Zephyrhills, FL; two sisters, Julie (David) Barton of Suches, GA, and Anna Drebes of Nashville, TN; two brothers, Jeff (Dena) Houghlin of Waco, TX, and Tom Franklin, of North Richland Hills, TX; two step-daughters, Caprice Miller and Carol Castaneda and their children; eight nieces and nephews, Jonathan, Adam and Will Barton, Jordan Bosillo, Kelly Keesee, Alison Blenden, Harper Houghlin and Preston Drebes; twelve great nieces and nephews; and extended family and loving friends in Texas, Arkansas, Illinois, Florida, as well as other areas across the country.
She is preceded in death by her Father, Duane C. Houghlin, and Brother, Randall S. Houghlin.
