Obituary

In Loving Memory of Sheila Mae Seme, 84, of Zephyrhills, gracefully departed this world on November 16, 2023. Born on November 11, 1939, in Ashtabula, Ohio, Sheila was the beloved daughter of Anthony Seme and Bernadette Seme (Gowdy). In 1957, Sheila graduated from LaFargeville, NYs Central High School. She achieved her nursing degree from St. Marys Hospital School of Nursing in 1959 and continued her education at the University of Maryland in 1960. Sheila devoted her life to raising two boys in Center Valley, PA, where she also enriched her community by organizing arts and crafts classes in the neighborhood of Afton Village. A woman of many talents, Sheila was known for her entrepreneurial spirit. The details of her Sheila Seme Miniatures Business remain a testament to her creativity and passion. Sheila's involvement in various organizations reflected her commitment to the community and shared interests. She served as the vice president of the Suncoast Saturn Car Club. In 1978, she assumed the position of president of the Allentown, PA Garden Club. Additionally, she was an esteemed member of the Dade City Garden Club. She earned numerous accolades and awards for her contributions. She generously volunteered her time for charities, including Wagon Train and childrens craft initiatives. A dedicated quilter, Sheila embraced a multitude of artistic pursuits, from painting and sewing to square dancing and photography. Her adventurous spirit led her to embark on five skydiving experiences and a balloon ride. Her commitment to personal growth and communication was evident through her membership in Toastmasters International. She had a constant thirst for knowledge and was a voracious reader of non-fiction and fiction books. Sheila was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husbands, Irving Gans and Gordon Page. She is now reunited with her feline companions, Gabriella and Xena. She is survived by her loving sons, Jeff Gans of Baltimore, MD, and Mark Gans of Northampton, PA. Sheila's cherished cat, Maui, continues to bring comfort to the family. She is also survived by her devoted sister, Marlene Liede of Danville, PA, along with nieces and nephews. Sheila will be remembered not only for her accomplishments but for the warmth, kindness, and joy she brought into the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
