IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sheila Anne
Carr
October 10, 1947 – August 14, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sheila Anne Carr, who died peacefully on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on October 10, 1947, to John Virgil and Iris Wilda Hunt, Sheila was a woman of extraordinary kindness and generosity.
For many, Sheila was "the town's mother"—a title she earned through her unwavering compassion and willingness to care for anyone who needed her. Her selfless nature and warm heart were evident to all who knew her, whether it was through her work at the Holiday Inn, where she was an employee of the month, or at Jerry's Bait and Tackle Shop, which she ran with her husband, Jerry Milton Carr, for many years.
Sheila is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; her daughter, Ursula; her son, Todd; and her sisters, Linda Deering and Sharon Higginbothom.
Her legacy of love lives on through her surviving family, including her brother, John Hunt. She will be deeply missed by the grandchildren she raised, Stephanie, Marcie, and Shelly Carr, as well as her great-grandchildren, Shyla, Kolton, Jameson, Malachi, Rowan, Alana, Averi, and Gemma. She also leaves behind her step-great-grandchildren, Sophia and Aidan Douberley.
A service for Sheila will be held at Dade City Cemetery on September 7th, 2025 at 10:00 A.M.
For those who wish to pay their respects, Sheila will be buried with her son Todd alongside her daughter Ursula.
