Obituary

Sharon Caissey, 76, of Gibsonton, FL went to be with the Lord on March 24, 2021, at the home of her daughter-in-love Tonya Kachurak. Sharon was born February 18, 1945 in Anderson, Indiana and was raised in Lenoir, North Carolina. She was the only child (adopted) of her father Lloyd Estes and her mother Lola Thompson Estes. She was blessed to grow up and be able to see much of North Carolina because of her dads work in the Air Force. They later moved to Florida where Sharon graduated from Oak Ridge High School in Orlando, FL and then studied cosmetology. In 1963 Sharon married Robert Kachurak, God gave her and Robert three blessings, James married to Kaytee, David married to Sylvette, and Jon engaged to Elise. Five wonderful grandchildren, Steven, Jonathan, Amanda, Christian, and Katelyn. Two beautiful great-granddaughters, Lillian and Lexi. After marriage Sharon was a service wife, she resided in Arkansas, California, Maine, Germany, Holland (The Netherlands) and after returning to the USA, Texas before moving to Florida in 1979. In Florida she soon met her best friend Neil, and after five years they decided to marry. Sharon and Neil Caissey, her late husband, they spent 25 more years enjoying Gods goodness. When Neil became ill, Sharon felt blessed to support Neil through a debilitating illness until his death. Following his death, Sharon looked for and found joy in friendships cultivated in the Red Hat Society, the First Presbyterian Church of Dade Citys senior adult ministry "Springtime in Autumn" and "Keenagers Program". She was a member of the Friendship Singers, and even started selling Stepping Up with Sandra Grimes. She became an active church member at The Dwelling Place (Church) in Lutz, FL supporting their ministry with seniors through Empty Nesters Bible Study meals, and writing cards to shut ins. When her own personal health difficulties became acute, Sharon became aware of how fleeting is this life and looked for opportunities to do good, make memories and share joy. As a Friendship Singer and with her friend Dolores Gast, she enjoyed making greeting cards at First Presbyterian (Springtime in the Autumn) and participating in Bible Study. Because of their ministry to her, First Presbyterian became her choice as she planned for her Celebration of the Resurrection. In her final months, she was blessed with the care of Tonya Kachurak and Nola Oliva. She was especially grateful for the generous gift of living with her "daughter-in-love" Tonya Kachurak. The kindness both shared with her and visits from "Precious" her dog, made her last months happier. She counted each season and her birthday as grace notes from God. Sharon enjoyed telling jokes, hearing the laughter of friends, and helping others to find the humor in life. She was not perfect and tried not expecting perfection from others. She worked always to forgive because "Precious" her little dog who thinks she is a human, was her reminder to "try and be as good a person as my dog thinks I am". Before her death, Sharon felt that the work of the Pasco County Animal Shelter was exemplary, and if you wish to make a gift in her memory, a gift to the Pasco County Animal Shelter located on Dogpatch Road in Dade City would be most welcome.
