Scott Leroy Newgent, age 64, of San Antonio, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026, at his home.

Born on October 26, 1961, in Bartow, Florida, Scott was the son of the late Dale Edwin Newgent, Sr. and Julia Jean (Stultz) Newgent. A high school graduate, Scott spent much of his career working in construction, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.

Outside of work, Scott enjoyed spending his time gaming and playing guitar in the band Carbon 14. These hobbies brought him countless hours of enjoyment and allowed him to express his creativity while connecting with friends and family.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Dale Edwin Newgent, Sr. and Julia Jean Newgent; and his brothers, Michael Lynn Newgent and Dale Edwin Newgent, Jr.

He is lovingly survived by his siblings, Cynthia Newgent Boiler, Gerald Allen Newgent, and Pamela Newgent DeBlase, along with extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Scott’s life.
