Sara Monge, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, age 86, of Santurce, Puerto Rico, went to be with her Lord and maker on May 18, 2022 in Zephyrhills, Florida.

Sara was born on March 17, 1936 in Santurce, Puerto Rico, to Petra Trinidad and Oscar Alvarez, she was the youngest of 13 children. She married her sweetheart, Zenon Monge, on January 30, 1965 in the Bronx, New York and together they raised their 4 children Theresa, Steven, Naomi, and Andrew.

Sara was actively involved in the church, and generously gave of her time, talent, and love. She always wanted to unselfishly take care of everyone around her. Sara had a great sense of humor and always made everyone laugh. She was known for her quick wit, infectious smile, and her kind and compassionate spirit.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Petra and Oscar; her sisters Amelia, Emilia, and Gloria; her brothers, Oscar, Raul, Ismael, Orsias, Samuel, Daniel, and Hector. Sara is survived by her husband, Zenon Monge; daughter, Theresa Burgos and son-in-law, Hector Burgos; son, Steven Monge; daughter, Naomi Monge; son, Andrew Monge; and grandchildren, Hector Emmanuel, Alexandra, Madison, Ayden, Sarahi, Israel, Isabella, and Joshua, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Services will be held at Hodges Funeral Home in Zephyrhills, Florida on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. Viewing will begin at 11 :30 a.m. followed by a service at 1 p.m. Burial to follow at Chapel Hill Gardens, Dade City.
