WAGGONER, Sandra J., Zephyrhills, FL, passed away on April 12, 2012, in hospice care following 3 months of severe illnesses. A retired teacher from Warren Township Schools in Indianapolis, Indiana, Sandra was born on July 20, 1938, to Forrest and Marnell Waggoner in Martin County Indiana. She grew up in Vincennes, Indiana where her father was stationed with the Indiana State Police. Sandra graduated from Lincoln High School, Vincennes, in 1956, and was a member of the band that won the school's first Indiana State Fair Marching Band championship in her senior year. She completed her college education at Indiana State Teachers College by obtaining her degree and teachers certificate in 1960. She taught math and biology in Bruceville, Indiana, and North Knox High School before joining the Warren Township School System where she eventually retired. Sandra relocated to Zephyrhills, Florida in the late 1990's after retirement to care for her parents. She became active and held numerous leadership positions in the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) Zephyrhills. She was active in Sigma Kappa sorority, a member of the Oregon California Trail Association, PEO, and had been Worthy Grand Matron, Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 291 Vincennes, Indiana. Sandra is survived by her two brothers, Max Waggoner of St. Louis, Missouri, and David Waggoner of Heathrow, Florida, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will hold two memorial services, one in Florida and another in Indiana. The first will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, at the First Christian Church, Zephyrhills, Florida. The second will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012, at the Hall Mortuary in Pittsboro, Indiana. That memorial service will be followed by a graveside ceremony at the K of P Cemetery, Lizton, Indiana.
