Sandra Sue "Cookie" Godsey, aged 82, passed away peacefully due to natural causes at a local hospice on April 21, 2024. Born on March 15,1942, in Tampa, Florida, to the late Albert and Jessie (Burleson) Ebersbach, she lived a life marked by community involvement and deep personal relationships.
Cookie graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1960, where she formed lifelong friendships. She went on to have a fulfilling career in banking, retiring from Barnett Bank.
Cookie shared 52 adventurous years with her high-school sweetheart, James Milton Godsey, travelling the scenic routes of America and building a tapestry of shared memories that continue to inspire love and togetherness. Each role was a chapter in a story of a woman who believed deeply in working hard, giving to the community and loving family and friends.
Predeceased by her parents, her brothers Johnny and Dennis, and other beloved family members, Cookie leaves behind a legacy with her daughters Cheryl Godsey and Tammi Cartwright (Rich), and granddaughter Sarah Sue Godsey, along with a circle of close family and friends.
Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, including her cherished family, friends and her furbabies, Dixie and Zoee.
