She and N.L. enjoyed going to the mountains as a family with daughter, Debbie. Their enjoyment of the the mountain trips continued by being a part of the large group of retired couples from First Baptist Church of Lutz fall mountain trips.
She was a wonderful, loving, mother and grandmother, and later in life a proud, great grandmother. In the young years, Sally and Debbie followed N. L. to the different Florida towns for his job. They traveled in a small but loving mobile home… not as large as most campers are today!
Sally was a wonderful homemaker and cook. She had many holiday and family gatherings and dinners that included wonderful food and decorations. She was a top-notch seamstress, making dresses, gowns, and suits. She would put patterns together to make unique gowns. Sally would crochet, knit., cross stitch , crewel, and quilt. She gave many handmade items away. For a generation she made Christmas stockings for family She was thrilled to make her granddaughter's baby quilt set. She loved Elizabeth very much and was proud her granddaughter had her name.
Sally was active as a parent in school… Becoming a home room mother and gray lady in the school clinic , as well as going on chorus trips and much more.
When her granddaughter was born, Sally was thrilled and showered her with love and affection throughout her life.
Sally loved the Lord! She and N.L. enjoyed being active in church… Enjoying friendships, cooking and serving meals, helping and providing for others. They went together and separately on mission trips to Central America. On one such trip, Sally was with a missionary going through the mountainous area to provide eyeglasses, when they were chased by bandits with rifles. As their jeep was racing down the mountain road, a rancher opened his gate and protected them .The rancher was a Christian and provided them with armed guards back to the city. Sally had adventures!
Sally enjoyed traveling to Europe with family. Elizabeth and her grandmother had a wonderful trip to Paris together. Later in life, Debbie and her mom had an Alaskan trip together to be remembered.
'Ami' enjoy the loving attention of her great grandchildren… Amelia, Braylon, Aria and Brinley. They brushed her hair, help feed her , made sure she had a soft, comfy blanket… And always showered her with love.
