Ruth Ann peacefully went on her heavenly journey on December 16, 2024.

Born on June 8, 1933 in Holmes County Ohio outside the town of Killbuck, she brought joy to all who knew her for 91 years.

She was a lifelong member of Methodist churches in Akron and Wooster and she was also an avid artist and painter who always gifted her family and friends with handmade cards for all occasions. She was also fortunate enough to travel and live in New Mexico as a missionary on a Navajo reservation and in southern California which was a period in her life that inspired many of her paintings.

She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Gessmann, parents Donald and Evelyn Bucklew, sister Janice Kay Bucklew, and grandson Joshua Gessmann.

She is survived by her children Dennis and Darrell of Akron, Deborah of Dade City, Florida, Donald (Amy) of New Smyrna Beach, Florida and David (Connie) of Shreve, Ohio; grandchildren Christin (Eddie) Rivera, Kim (West) King, Michael Clay, Nathan (Chantel) Gessmann, Sarah (Joe) Galford, and Caleb (Courtney) Gessmann; and many other family members and friends.

A private ceremony is planned for family members at a later date.
