Slough, Russell Samuel Rusty, passed away Sunday morning June 3, 2012 in Tampa at The Pepin Heart Center. He was born on April 8, 1940 and was a life-long resident of Dade City. He was predeceased by his father Samuel Osborn Slough and his mother Christine Gilbert Slough whose families were pioneers of Pasco County. Rusty graduated from Pasco High School in 1958 and attended college at Clemson University and the University of Florida. He was a strong supporter of the Florida Gators and enjoyed playing golf for many years. He first worked with his father in their citrus grove business and afterwards managed their investments from his office in Dade City. Rusty is survived by his cousins Bill Jordan of Dade City, Kay Fussell of Tallahassee, Mignon Hewell of Atlanta and Sandy Wilson of Deland and his many close friends who loved him. Rusty will be missed by all. He will be buried next to his mother and father in the Dade City Cemetery with a graveside service at 11:00am Friday, June 8, 2012.
