Ruby H. Bradford, age 90, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 15, 2015. She was born in Douglasville, Georgia on January 17, 1924. Ruby was raised in Atlanta,GA and spent most of her adult life in Florida with her husband, James. She and James co-owned Mr. Sun Health Food Shoppe in Brandon and Plant City for many years. Ruby was an active and long standing resident of Windward Knolls Mobile Park in Thonotosassa before moving to The Commons in Zephyrhills. Ruby was a born again Christian who, although baptized late in life, fully loved God and trusted in Him. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Thonotosassa. Ruby loved life and loved people, especially her family. She was loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, James O. Bradford and is survived by her son, Rick (Nancy), three grandsons, Jim (April), Brian (Amy) and Kevin, and eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 21st at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, FL from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A celebration of her life service will be held graveside at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery immediately after visitation. Donations to HPH Hospice, on Clinton Avenue, Dade City, FL, may be given in her memory in lieu of flowers.
