Ruben H. Perez Sr., 85, of Dade City, Florida passed away in the morning of May 15, 2026.

Ruben was born to parents Esperanza (Hernandez) and Joe Perez in Caro, Michigan on October 22, 1940. Ruben was the widow of Penny Doster. He had four children Jesse, Joe, Ruben Jr. and Maria.

Ruben served in the United States Army earlier in life and was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church of Ridge Manor, Florida. He attended church regularly and devoted much of his later life to his faith. Ruben was a retired strong-willed farm worker.

Ruben enjoyed calling relatives daily just to check in and spending time with his niece Robin and nephew John. He had numerous chihuahuas throughout his life, but his favorite was Chico.

Ruben was a man who will be fondly remembered as his shirt says: “Best Grandpa Ever.”

Graveside services are to take place at Dade City Cemetery on May 22nd, 2026 at 12:00 P.M.
