Obituary

Rose Stephens 92, went to heaven on Sunday, May 13th, 2018. She was born in Torbay, Newfoundland to Joseph Ryan and Ellen Ryan (Finn) on the 12th day of December 1925. She was raised by her nanny Anastasia OToole. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Chester (Steve) G. Stephens of 50 years and many brothers and sisters including her brother Joseph (Little Joe) Ryan. Left to honor and remember her love are her children Gloria Mullet, Patricia ONeil, Joseph Stephens, Phyllis Doran, Chester Stephens, (granddaughters) Shaunna Daerda, Samantha Stephens and many more grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She loved and cared for all the people around her. She was a shining light of the Catholic faith leading the rosary every Monday, ensuring others gained communion, and advocated for the return of mass at the nursing facility she resided in. The visitation will be Wednesday, May 16th from 5-7 p.m., at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City 301 Chapel. The sharing of memories and love will take place from 5-6 p.m. and the saying of the rosary will begin at 6 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in San Antonio on Thursday May 17th at 10 a.m., followed by the burial at Sunset Memory Gardens (Thonotosassa). You may send flowers to Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel or in lieu of flowers make a donation in her memory to Catholic Education through Sacred Heart Church.
