Rosa Lee McMillan Yates, a native of Dade City, Florida, passed away on August 28th 2023, at the age of 95. Rosa Lee passed peacefully surrounded by family, after a brief illness, following a heart attack. After almost ninety years living in Dade City, Florida, she spent the last six years with her son William L. Yates and daughter-in-law Nilene, residing in Blue Ridge, Georgia. During Rosa Lee's working years, she first worked at Eddie's Drive-In in Dade City ,FL, followed by working as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk for CFC, Inc. and a receptionist/bookkeeper for Dr. Dwayne Deal. Over the years she has worked at a number of family-related businesses. Rosa Lee was preceded in death by her parents; James Bethel McMillan and Alice Belle Lanier McMillan, and five siblings: Leon McMillan (Juanita), Carrie Mae Dawson (Chester Lee), Dena Connell (Elbert), Lucille Parker (Comer) and J.B. McMillan (Viola). Rosa Lee is survived by one sister; Lois Cash of Dade City, and one son; William L. Yates, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great, great grandchild. Additionally, Rosa Lee is survived by many, many well-loved nieces and nephews. The McMillan-Lanier family was one of the founding families of Dade City, FL and she was proud to call Dade City her home. The funeral will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home on 301 in Dade City on Saturday, the 9th of September. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am with the funeral at 11:00 am. All are welcome.
