Ronald Stanley Scaife of Darby, Florida passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2013 peacefully in his home. Ron was born in Greenfield, Pennsylvania to Martha and William Scaife on March 18, 1943. Ron married his wife Darleen, on January 2, 1962 in Moundsville, West Virginia. He worked for Don Allen Chevrolet as a Mechanic and then took a truck driving position with Allegheny Installations, where they realized his potential and began training him for the seamless epoxy flooring installations, within a year he became an installer and a member of the Masons Union. In 1978, Ron and his family moved to Land O Lakes Florida, and Ron began working for Lotspeich Interior Contractors. In 1983, Ron established his own flooring business, Marine Decking, Inc. In 1991 he opened a General Nutrition Center in Lutz, Florida and changed the name of the flooring business to Scaife Enterprises, Inc. During this time he moved his home and business to Dade City, Florida. Rons business thrived and he was able to retire at the age of 55, and began traveling across the country with Darleen in their motor home visiting family, car shows and good friends. Throughout Rons life he built and restored countless numbers of antique cars, 1949 Mercurys being his favorite. He had an impeccable imagination and skills envisioning the design of the cars and making them into exactly what he wanted, such as the Mercury Pickup truck and the Sedan Delivery SUV, which Mercury never made. The biggest compliment to him was when people thought they were the originally built by the factory, and not custom built. Ron is survived by his wife Darleen, his children Bill (wife Melanie) Richie, Rhonda (husband Mike), Darla (husband Savas) and Dorie (husband Austin), his grandchildren Billy (wife Tristina) Jessica (husband Chad), RJ, Danielle, Justin, Sirin, Isabella and Zachary, his great grand child Zaydin, his brother Bobby his sisters Shirley and Martha, and number 6. The Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 1st Baptist Church of Wesley Chapel, 29716 State Road 54, Wesley Chapel, Florida 33543.
