Ronald Lee Jones 83, of Dade City passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018 at his home. He was born June 7, 1935 in Belle Glade, FL to Vernon Lee & Gladys O. Williams Jones. Ron was a longtime area resident, a graduate of the University of Florida and a retired Banker. He was an active and faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Dade City where he served as a Deacon, taught Sunday School and served on numerous committees. A former member of the Dade City Rotary Club, the Florida Cattlemen's Association, the Kiwanis Club of Plant City and active Foster Parents for the State of Florida, Ron is survived by his wife: Margaret A. Jones (former math teacher at Pasco High School); 4 daughters: Donna Richey, Kathy Browning (Kurt), Sharon Amezcua (Carlos), Rhonda Saltsman; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 17 step great-grandchildren and 1 step great-great-grandchild. A Celebration of his Life will be held at 3pm Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Dade City where a reception will follow for those in attendance who can then visit with the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to either the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research c/o 2990 S.
