Ronald Bohm, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather,
passed away on January 19, 2025, at the age of 99.
Born on July 25, 1925, in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Ronald lived a long and fulfilling life,
marked by his unwavering love for his family and community.
Ronald proudly served with honor in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant First Class from 1944 to
1965. He was a World War II veteran and received numerous honors throughout his military
career, including medals for marksmanship and, most notably, the prestigious Bronze Star
and the Purple Heart for his courageous service and sacrifices.
Ronald is survived by his four children: Linda (Vicki) Mullins of Spring Hill, TN; Ronald A.
(Cathie) Bohm of Dade City, FL; Deborah (Jim) Barnes of Dade City, FL; Regina (Doug) Rea
of Atlanta, GA; and a half-brother Harry Smith of Brandon FL. "Pawpaw" (as he was
affectionately known), also leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 8
great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense joy and pride. His family was
the center of his world, and his legacy will live on through them.
A man of great passion for the outdoors, Ronald was a staunch advocate for the
environment, dedicating much of his time to preserving the beauty of nature. His love for
the earth and its creatures was a guiding principle in his life, and he instilled these values in
all those who knew him.
Throughout his long and rich life, Ronald touched many hearts with his kindness, wisdom,
and gentle spirit. His legacy is one of love for family, devotion to nature, and a lifelong
commitment to making the world a better place.
A memorial service will be held for friends and family at Hodges Family Funeral Home,
11441 US Highway 301, Dade City, FL 33525, on January 24, 2025, at 11 AM. In lieu of
flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Purple Heart Foundation in Ronald's
memory (purpleheartfoundation.org).
He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace.
