Roland Arthur Fowler, Born September 15, 1927, Highland Park, MI, went to be with the LORD on Friday, August 21, 2015 at Tampa General Hospital, Tampa, FL.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Margaret Lick Fowler and survived by two sons, Rich Fowler (Barbara) of Detroit, MI, Wayne Fowler of Wyoming, MI and a daughter, Linda Telder (Tim) of DeTour Village, MI.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Curtis Fowler, three stepdaughters, Mary G Castro of Dade City, FL, Jennifer Vik (Norm) of Tampa, FL, and Lisa Miller (Don) of Tampa, FL. He was predeceased by a stepson, Chuck Dickinson of Apollo Beach, FL.
Surviving grandchildren are, Tera Fowler Bartman (Trent), Nanda Fowler, Joshua Castro (Stephanie), Jared Castro (Megan), Travis Stewart, Brittany Dickinson-Paton (Brandon), Brooke Dickinson, Hannah Miller and three great-grandchildren.
He was a man of faith and former charter member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Grandville, MI, Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Wyoming, MI and Southpointe Baptist Church, Leesburg, FL.
He owned and operated Fowler Decorating, Wyoming, MI and served on the Board of Directors of Grant Valley Co-Op Credit Union.
He served in the US Navy during WWII, and received the WWII Victory Medal and the American Area Campaign Medal. Past Commander, American Legion Post No. 2, Grand Rapids, MI.
He was a 32 Degree Mason at Lisbon Crescent Lodge No. 229 and Captain of the Drill Team, Saladin Shrine Temple, Grand Rapids, MI.
Former Little League Coach and Past President of Fathers Club, Rogers High School, Wyoming, MI, and member of the Mens Golf League at Plantation in Leesburg, FL.
Services to be held Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 11441 US Highway 301, Dade City, FL. Visitation at 9:00 am, Memorial Service at 10:00 am with interment and Military Honors to follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
