Roger Alan Durden Kaminski received a new assignment in Heaven on Thursday, March 27, 2014. He was born on May 30, 1952 in Joliet, Illinois to Estelle and Edwin Kaminski. He moved to Florida in 1973 because he loved the warm weather. His career started in Hillsborough county as a high school media specialist. Soon after he became the media supervisor for Pasco County Schools, retiring after 35 years in education. In 2003, he and his wife Marion founded a faith based nonprofit organization, TriCommunity Fellowship of Christian Leaders, aka Christian Edge Dream Center. The Christian Edge Coffee House operated every Saturday evening for five years, offering live Christian music, gourmet coffee drinks, smoothies, snacks and great fellowship. The Christian Edge also hosted several kids clubs, and music, art, and dance lessons for the youth in the surrounding areas. His passion was to see people work together for the betterment of their community. He especially wanted to see the Christian community come together and make an impact on their world. Roger loved music and was an accomplished musician and singer. He had many talents, skills, and gifts that he shared with others. Roger attended New Walk church in Dade City. Roger leaves behind his wife, Marion; his son, Benjamin of Odessa, FL; his son, Daniel of Odessa, FL; grandson, Hunter Triplett; Brother, Earl Kaminski (Mary) of Chicago, IL.; sister, Diane Taskay (John) of Tomahawk, WI; sister, Claire Cimino (Paul) of Lemont, IL.Visitation will take place at Hodges Funeral Home, Hwy 301 Dade City on Sunday, March 30 from 4 to 6 pm. A celebration of his life will take place on Monday, March 31 at 2 pm, also at Hodges Funeral Home, Dade City. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens.
