Roger (Donnie) IveySeptember 7, 1945 - July 8, 2022Roger (Donnie) Ivey 76 passed away on July 8, 2022, at the James A Haley Veterans Hospital. He passed peacefully with his wife and dog "CoCo" by his side.

Donnie was born in Dundee, Florida on September 7, 1945, to Hugh and Myrtice Ivey.At the time of his death, he resided in San Antonio, Florida with his wife Janice Ivey.Donnie was a proud U.S. Veteran of the United States Army. He served his country with pride for 5 years. He was an Army Ranger Jumper serving in Vietnam.

Donnie was an active member, with his wife at Lake Magdalene United Methodist Church in Tampa, Florida.Donnie worked as an agriculture inspector before transitioning to the citrus industry as a Citrus Packing House Manager on the East Coast of Florida. After retiring Donnie worked part-time for Sonny's Appliance in Dade City, Florida.

He loved fishing on the rivers and waterways of Florida. He loved exploring while camping with his wife and grandkids. Papa, as his grandkids would call him, enjoyed watching them play their sports, from basketball, baseball, volleyball, football, and motocross to fishing tournaments. He was proud of every one of them near or far. He tried to attend as many games, tournaments, and sporting events however big or small. He showed up. He was excited about his grandkid's future and to watch all of the accomplishments that they had achieved. Papa enjoyed rocking on the front porch and floating in the pool, one of his favorite relaxing past times. He was so proud to sit on the back porch and watch every detail of the pool and backyard. He loved taking care of his birdhouses and seeing which ones had just flown in for the season. Donnie had many good friends along his life journey.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Michael that was taken from him way too soon. His parents, sister, Barbara, and his brother, David.

Donnie leaves behind his wife, Janice Ivey, and beloved dog, Coco, of San Antonio, Florida, his son Dennis (Michelle) Ivey, and grandson, Wade. His daughter, Mimi (Jason) Zellers, and grandsons, Jack, Max, and Sam. Stepdaughter, Dawn Doyle (Dean) grandkids, Kaitlyn Thomas, Austin Doyle (Vanessa), Taylor Baldwin (Chris), Iza'Bella Doyle, and Ashton Doyle. Great grandkids, Sophia Baldwin, Journey Thomas, Marina Thomas, and Baby Baldwin on the way. Stepdaughter, Tracy Blake Samon, and grandkids, Blake and Jared Michael Samon. Brother, Dorsey Ivey (Carolyn), Sister, Anita Haskins, and Cindy Mixon (Wayne). Many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

Donnie will be honored on Friday, August 5 at 11 AM at the Bushnell National Cemetery with Honors for his service to OUR country.NO FLOWERS PLEASE
