Roger Allen Conley, 49 of Dade City, FL died at home on Aug 1, 2022 after a brief illness. Roger was born on Jan 16, 1973 in Ashland, Ohio, second child of Carless and Barbara Conley. Roger spent his childhood in Ashland, as you did in the late 70s, running around with neighborhood kids, riding bikes and playing until the street lights came on. Carless and Barbara relocated with Roger to Florida in 1987. Around 1990, Roger joined his father working for his cabinetry business. According to his father, Carless, Roger was often up early and working before anyone and was very efficient and hard-working. He also worked for a time as a volunteer firefighter with Station 32 in Pasco County (Richland). Later in life, he struggled with his mental health, but was always willing to help out friends and give to others who needed it. Those who knew him describe him as a good friend with a big heart. He loved animals, especially his beloved cat, Fatback, who was his companion for 14 years. He also enjoyed playing with the neighborhood children, and they seemed to be drawn to his energy as a big kid, himself. Roger is survived by his father, Carless Conley of Dade City, FL, and a sister, Brenda Conley of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Conley (nee Talpas). No services are planned, but a celebration of Rogers life will be held in Dade City at a later date, time and location to be determined.
