Roger R. "John" Collyer 87, of Dade City passed away Monday, June 5, 2017. He was born February 16, 1930 in Burlington, MI to Cecil & Catherine Rice Collyer and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a mechanic for most of his life and retired from Burkhart Dental in 2001. He attended First Baptist Church in Dade City where he was active in Sunday School and the Prime Timers Group. John is survived by his wife of 14 years: Eleanor Morrison-Collyer; son: Jim Collyer; sister: Barbara Little; step-daughter: Lisa Wubbena (Joey); step-son: Dale Morrison; 4 grandchildren: Richard Cunningham, Joshua Cunningham (Molly), Justin Collyer (Misha), Jackie Bellmer (Mike); 7 step-grandchildren: Lyndsi Greim (David), Kaci Wubbena-Moss (Malissa), Cori Allen, Rodney Shanahan, Steven Shanahan, Ryan Morrison, Chad Morrison; 1 great grandson Kuper Bellmer and 12 step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his 1st wife of 47 years: June Collyer, daughter: Jerri Cunningham, step-son: Steven Morrison and step-daughter: Diana Shanahan. A memorial gathering will be held from 11-12pm Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the 5th Street Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to Heritage Park Specialty Care Center or Gulfside Hospice Dade City.
