Obituary

Robert Joseph Zolinski,. Sr., passed away on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Gulfside Center for Hospice Care in Zephyrhills. Bob was born in Saginaw, MI on August 1, 1927 to Joseph and Louise Zolinski and baptized at St. Mary's Cathedral. Robert graduated from Saginaw Technical High School and served in the Merchant Marines during WWII. As a career salesman, Bob blessed many lives selling a variety of products. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Bonita Springs, the Lions Club in Saginaw, and the Elks Club in Zephyrhills. Bob loved his family, fishing, hunting, card playing, and shooting the breeze on the lanai with friends and neighbors passing by. Bob was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Wilkinson) whom he married in 1948; a sister, Lorraine and two brothers, Ed and Joe. He is survived by his dearly loved wife, Lonnie Zolinski of Zephyrhills, whom he met and married in 1972, and five devoted children, Paula Kay Todd of Boston, MA; Jody Ann Wilkinson of Dover, MA; Richard Scott Zolinski (Valerie) of San Antonio, TX; Robert (Chip) Zolinski, Jr. (Lisa) of Downingtown, PA; and James Alan Zolinski (Laurie) of Alexandria, VA. "You played a winning hand dad! We love you." Bob loved and enjoyed his surviving 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Bob is also survived by three loved sisters, Delphine, Marie, and Joanne and many nieces and nephews." Visitation will be from 11-12 noon Tuesday, June 17th at Hodges Family Funeral Home, Zephyrhills. Services will follow at 12 noon. He will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
