Robert Lee Walters 95 of San Antonio, FL, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2015, at Gulfside Hospice in Zephyrhills. Mr. Walters was born in Orlando, FL to Roscoe & Lucille (Davenport) Walters. For 31 years he served his country and was a proud veteran of the US Coast Guard where he obtained the rank of Chief Warrant Officer (CWO4) and was a member of the Coast Guard CWO Association. While living in Elizabeth City, NC he was an active supporter of the band boosters. In 1972 he returned to his native central Florida where he enjoyed fishing, gardening and becoming a proud supporter of the athletic boosters of Citrus High School. Since moving to San Antonio, Robert was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by sons Robert Lee, Jr. and Edward Joseph, and is survived by his wife of 67 years Beatrice, of San Antonio, FL., his children: John Richard (Jean) of Ivor, VA; Philomena Mary (William) Carr of Beaverdam, VA; Patrick Howard (Sandra) of Stevens Point, WI; Philip Thomas (Karen) of Moorpark, CA, Michael Francis (Noraida) of Virginia Beach, VA and James Edward (Deborah) of Zephyrhills, FL; two daughters-in-law: Carolyn of Mission, TX, and Deborah of Belleview, FL.; 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Dec 20th from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm (Rosary at 3:30 pm) and on Monday, Dec 21st from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 32832 Saint Anthony Way, San Antonio, FL 33576 where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 am on Monday, Dec 21st. Mr. Walters will be laid to rest at 1:00 pm on Monday at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL. Visitation
