Robert A. Rothen, known as Bob to those who loved him, passed away on January 21, 2025, in Brooksville, Florida, at the age of 80. Born on March 28, 1944, in Sewickley, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Earl F. Rothen and Katherine Perine Rothen.
Bob earned an Associates degree in Engineering from Penn State University and worked as a licensed electrician in Pennsylvania before moving to Florida. There, he became the Plant Operations Director for Dade City Hospital until his retirement.
Bob had a passion for life and many interests, including cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, playing billiards, enjoying seafood, tinkering in his tool barn, building model trains, and spending time with his beloved cats. He cherished time with family, whether relaxing at home, enjoying the outdoors, or making memories together. A tall man with a gentle heart, Bob was known for his kindness, dedication, and friendship.
He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine, his children Bartram (Beth) Rothen and Robert Jr. (Cammie) Rothen, stepchildren Denette Williamson (late husband Michael) and Dennis (Meredith) Wakely, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who kept him young at heart.
Bob was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by Elaine, his family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, wisdom, and love will never be replaced.
