Robert Creighton Rice, III, (Bo), 45 years of age, Tampa, FL. passed away on Thursday evening, June 25th. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Creighton Rice Jr. and his younger brother, Smith Erler Rice. Bo is survived by his mother, Sharon Smith Blanchard, his step father, G. Robert Blanchard Sr., his brother, Kenneth Bartley Rice (Charity), his beloved niece and nephews (Dillon, Smith, Creighton, Kennedy, Everett, and Anderson), his uncle, Michael Hampton Smith, his aunt, Elizabeth Collins Rice (Betsy), his 4 step siblings, Joe (Melissa), Elizabeth, Bob (Linda), and Bill (Kellie) Blanchard as well as his 12 step nieces and nephews and many Hampton family loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Bo had a few noticeable interests in life; those that he honed in on, he did with impressive dedication and intense focus! In high school, he had a successful discipline in body building and later in life a passion for arts and music. Using this passion, Bo was able to express himself creatively although he was misunderstood by his "more common" friends and family. Bo endured and braved many life challenges typically unknown by most people. One of his greatest, a 20 plus year battle with the unrelenting disease of schizophrenia. Despite his ongoing battle, he had most recently become an incredibly loving son, brother, Uncle, and friend. He developed a wonderful interest in his nephews and niece and when he was around them he always made a valiant effort to ensure their safety and security. He truly valued friendships and loved to offer enthusiastic encouragement to everyone. Bo will be greatly missed and never forgotten! There will be a private family memorial service for Bo. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance Tampa Bay, (DBSA Tampa Bay), in memory of Bo and mail to P.O. Box 340572, Tampa, Fl. 33694
