Robert Glenn Reffuse, 81, of Dade City, Florida, passed away on August 26, 2025.
Born on August 13, 1944, in Dudley, Georgia, he was the son of Leo and Alene Reffuse. As a child, Robert moved to Lacoochee, Florida, and remained in Dade City throughout his life.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and later worked as a retired carpenter. Robert had a love for music—he was a songwriter, singer, and musician—and enjoyed woodworking. He was a Christian man with a strong sense of humor who cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Reffuse; his children, Gary (Sandra) Heath, Ferlin Pete Heath, Michelle (David) Cumbee, and David Reffuse; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind siblings Elsie Mertes, Lawan Gaskin, and Larry (Kathy) Reffuse, Friend; Dr. Rob Luttrel and their passion of wood working, pets; Meina and Pongo; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Alene Reffuse; his children, Robert "Dink" Reffuse and Pamela Mullins; his siblings, Ronald Reffuse, Joannie Williamson, and Reggie Reffuse; brothers-in-law Ralph Mertes, Sonny Williamson, Buddy Hamm, and Joseph Hamm; and sisters-in-law Rose Pennington, Mae Clark, Alice Beyers, Seretha Conkright, and Martha Hamm.
A funeral service will be held Friday, September 5, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lacoochee, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery. Dinner will be provided by First Baptist Church of Lacoochee following the interment.
Arrangements are under the care of Hodges Family Funeral Home.
