Robert E. Oldenburg
Oldenburg, Robert E 90 of Dade City passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side August 3, 2021. He was born March 19, 1931 in Easton, Maine the son of the late Hershel A Oldenburg and Dora M Kennedy Oldenburg. He attended Sherman Mills High School graduating in 1949. He attended Husson University where he received a bachelors degree in Business Accounting in May 1976. He joined the Air Force career, 20 years in 1952. Bob served in Korea and Tan Son Nhut, Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force in 1972. He went on to a second career with the United States Post Office and retired again 1994. On April 12, 1952 he married his lovely wife Ada G Crockett. Their marriage of 69 years, anniversary on April 12, 2021, with 5 children they started their military life traveling the globe. Among the families favorite times they spent together were when we returned to Maine for family vacations. Mattawamkeg Lake and St Froid Lake being their destinations, camp.
Bob and his wife Ada have been in the Zephyrhills/Dade City area since 1994. Bob was an avid and active bowler since the late 1950's till 2020 when COVID-19 closed Pin Chasers. He and his wife were a fixture, he is greatly missed by the many friends he made through the years. Bob has been a Mason since 1974.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ada G. Crockett Oldenburg. Daughter - Marcia of Dade City. Son - Tim and daughter-in-law Danyel of Dexter, Maine. Son - Steve and daughter-in-law Diana of Biddeford, Maine. Daughter - Karen of Dade City. Son - Bryan (deceased 2008) and daughter-in-law Brenda of Fuquay Varina, N. Carolina. 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Lots of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Clarence "Burg", Preston"Pratt" and William "Bill" and his son Bryan.
Memorial services are at St Elizabeth Episcopal Church in Zephyrhills August 9, 2021 at 2 PM - Zoom is available via the churchs wesite for those that cannot attend in person and would like to part of our celbration of life for Bob Oldenburg.
