Robert Theodore Jennings, Sr, Ocala, Florida passed away at Ocala Health and Rehabilitation on May 10, 2020. He was born on November 22, 1922 in Toledo, Ohio to parents Bernard L. and Grace E. (Cousino) Jennings.
Robert, a WWII veteran, served in the Coast Guard from 1942 until 1946. After his time in the service he met and married his forever girl, Mary J. (Foufos) Jennings, who preceded him in death in 2001. He retired from Libby, Owens, Ford (Pilkington) as a glass bender for automobile windshields after 30 years.
Robert became an avid bingo player after the death of his wife and loved camping, large print crossword puzzles, and Reisling. He had a dry sense of humor and loved joking around with the staff at Ocala Health and Rehabilitation. His favorite was when they'd ask him if he was hungry, his reply was always "no I'm French".
Robert is survived by daughters, Joanne (Doug) Feister, Deborah (Martin) Miller and sons, Robert (Cindy) and Thomas (Kim) Jennings, 10 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mary, infant son, parents and siblings. Donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or a VFW in your area.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic a private family memorial service will be held on June 10 at 1pm at Chapel Hill Gardens in the Serenity Mausoleum.
