Robert L. Ianson, 79 of Dade City, Florida drew his last breath on earth and his first breath with his Savior that he loved so much in heaven, passing away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2017 following a brief illness at The Gulfside Center for Hospice Care in Zephyrhills, Florida.Robert was born October 23, 1937 in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Kenneth R. Ianson and the late Grace A. (Tyler) Ianson. He resided with his high school sweetheart, Mable J. (Nelson) Ianson in Dade City, Florida.Robert served his country in the United States Army for 11 years, he attained the rank of E-6 Staff Sergeant and received an honorable discharge. He was employed in many different fields during his lifetime ultimately retiring from the United States Postal Service.He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Zephyrhills, Florida. Most importantly, Robert was a man of faith. He loved the Lord and freely shared his faith with all those that he came in contact with.Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Mable J. Ianson; 2 daughters, Laurel S. Eriksen and her husband Thomas of Sprakers, New York, Melissa S. Shuart and her husband William of Lakeland, Florida; 1 son, Kenneth A. Ianson of Arlington, Texas; 3 granddaughters, 4 grandsons; 2 great-grandsons; 1 sister, Judith A. Shaffer of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania along with several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents and 3 brothers, Ronald P. Ianson, Norman Ianson and William K. Ianson.A graveside memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date with burial to be in the Ianson Cemetery, Coudersport, Pennsylvania.Donations in Robert's memory can be made to Gulfside Hospice (https://www.ghppc.org/gh/index.html )
