Robert "Bobby" Hugh Hammond
On the morning of April 24, 2021, Bobby passed away in Clearwater, Florida. He was 71 years old.
Bobby was born in Clearwater, Florida and raised in Dunedin, Florida, where he spent his childhood and early adult life. He then moved to Zephyrhills, Florida, where he resided for many years before moving to an assisted living facility in Clearwater, Florida.
Bobby was a graduate of River Bible Institute, earning his Bachelors degree in Theology and served in various ministries, with a specific passion for prison and nursing home ministries.
Bobby grew up with 7 siblings and castnet fishing was a favorite pastime that carried into his adult life. During the week or on a weekend it wasnt unusual to see him fishing off the docks in Dunedin or other spots in Pinellas and Pasco counties where schools of mullet abound. He also enjoyed working out and lifting weights. While residing in Zephyrhills it was not uncommon to see him in the local Walmart shopping or at McDonalds eating breakfast and socializing with other individuals. Even in his last few years he loved when someone would bring him a chocolate shake and McGriddle as a treat.
Bobby was raised Christian in a Pentecostal church in Dunedin (previously Dunedin Church of God). As an adult a calling to ministry became so strong that he made a decision to study Theology, in addition to his day job as an Aluminum Contractor. His first love was his relationship with Christ and sharing the gospel to anyone who would listen. His other passion was his love of family and spending time at family gatherings. Besides spending time with family, he also had a love for animals and especially enjoyed feeding ducks at the local ponds. He enjoyed going to the movies and never turned down an opportunity to help someone in need. His children recall many times being in the car while their dad was helping someone on the side of the road or elsewhere. He had a servants heart and never shied away from an opportunity to extend an act of kindness.
Bobby is reunited in heaven with his brother James Raymond Hammond; his mother Violet Zipancich Hammond; his father Oscar "Lucky" Leon Hammond; his wife Karen Elizabeth Basile Hammond; and his son Keith Gregory Hammond.
Bobby is survived by 6 siblings, Nada Hunt, Leon Hammond, Diane Flanagan, Dale Hammond, Oscar Hammond and Charlie Hammond; 7 children, Tim Sansom (spouse Patricia), Kimberly Lynn Tucker (spouse Mark), Elizabeth Anne Jenner (spouse Richard), Aaron Michelle Hammond, Tammy Rebecca Hammond, Robert Anthony Genario Hammond (partner Ashley) and Cory Allison Hammond; 17 grandchildren, Nicholas Jacob Sansom, Jesse Brandon Sansom, Molly Jasmine Sansom, Jessica Hinckley, Keith Hammond II, Renee Beth Hammond, Brittney Hammond, Rebecca Francis Robinson, William Timothy Robinson, Jessica Lynn Robinson, Kristina Nichole Robinson, Felicia Marie Tucker, James William Brock, Rachel Louise Walton, Richard Allen Jenner IV, Alexis E. Romans 10:9-10 9 because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteousbeing freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation.
Luke 3:16 16 John answered them all by saying, "As for me, I baptize you [only] [a]with water; but One who is mightier [more powerful, more noble] than I is coming, and I am not fit to untie the strap of His sandals [even as His slave]. He will baptize you [who truly repent] with the Holy Spirit and [you who remain unrepentant] with fire.
