Obituary

Ritter "Steven" Tuten, 69, passed away at Dade City Hospital on Monday, July 31, 2017 surrounded by the love of his family.Born April 19, 1948 in Hampton, South Carolina, Ritter was the oldest of 8 children. At the age of 16, he moved to Dade City. It was here that he built his life and cultivated countless friendships. He loved fishing, western movies, and the History Channel. He loved blasting country music as he drove around town. More than anything, though, he loved people. He loved his family. Need a ride He would be there. Hungry He would feed you. He showed us all what it means to live a life of kindness; he loved unconditionally and gave freely. It's impossible to put into words how much he was loved and how deeply he will be missed.He is survived by his siblings, Carolyn(James) Lane, Herbert (Donna) Newsome, John (Alaca) Braxton, Janell (Edward) Phillips, Fran(Larry) Pate and Jimmy (Melinda) Newsome. Ritter leaves behind 18 nieces and nephews and 32 great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Annie Harper, father, Monroe Tuten, brother, Brooks Stanley his nephew, James Phillips, and great-niece Jayni Williams..Memorial services will be held 3pm Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Visitation
