Rita Carol Clark, 76, passed away at home on Friday, May 12th, 2023, in Wesley Chapel, FL.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents Walter James Norris, Rosetta Scott Norris, and loving siblings Walter Norris, Deloris Hodges, Delphine Norris, and Janet Moore.
Rita is survived by her children Kimberly Clark (Tampa, FL), Stephanie Wieland (Lansing, MI), Monica Haddox (Gallatin, TN), and Kion Norris (Atlanta, GA); two grandchildren Jamison Haddox and Kyrie Norris; daughters-in-law Barbara Wieland and Elizabeth Haddox; loving sister Diane Norris, devoted nieces Sonya Crayton and Nicole Norris; best friend Julia Flowers and a host of other family and friends.
Those of us lucky enough to know Rita knew a woman who always found room in her heart for more people. She went out of her way to provide for those she cared for, whether it was making room in her home for those who needed it or working extra jobs to make sure her children could have things they both needed and wanted. She was particularly close to her sister, Janet, and loved to tell stories about their adventures together when they were young. When Janet needed it, Rita donated one of her kidneys without hesitation. Rita loved R&B music, especially Dionne Warwick, and would spend many evenings singing along with her videos. She also loved spending time with her family her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Spending time at the beach was always a welcome treat and she would go with her niece, Nicole Norris, every chance she got. Her loving heart extended to her pets, who were treasured and doted on, and who deeply loved her in return. While Rita was open-hearted, she was also strong-willed; once she made up her mind it was not easy to steer her otherwise. Lastly, Rita was kind and good, she was always on the side of the underdog and her opinions always leaned toward the side of justice. It is impossible to imagine this world without her in it.
