Richard W. Schultz, age 75 of Brooksville, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021.
Rick was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to parents Stanley and Evelyn (nee Beckett) Schultz.
He grew up in Clearwater Beach (Baltimore) and attended Glen Burnie Sr. High School, class of 63. He went on to graduate summa cum laude receiving a B.S. in accounting from Baltimore College of Commerce, now known as University of Baltimore. He was a Certified Public Accountant, completing postgraduate training courses with Ernst & Whinney, CPAs. After a long career in accounting, he retired as a Forensic Accountant from an insurance company.
Rick was also a mason and involved with the Glen Burnie Masonic Lodge, Tampa Consistory, Scottish Rite and Egypt Temple Shrine in Tampa, FL. He was a member of the Y.E.S. Club at Egypt Temple serving as a Treasurer, Second Vice President, First Vice President, President, Board member and Chairman of the Board, as well as, the Potentates Representative and Secretary for the Club Council. It has been stated that an official event he organized to benefit crippled and burned children, "Saturday Night at the Fights," was one of the most successful events of the time at Egypt Temple.
He also served as past president of his local Civic Association, as well as, a lay assistant and guitarist for Faith Lutheran Church, Lutz while living in Land O Lakes, FL.
Rick had several hobbies in addition to playing the guitar. He also enjoyed woodworking, fishing, golfing, auto mechanics, fixing things around the house, reading, and walking his dog, Lola.
Rick was strong, kind, caring, and always there to help family or friends in need. He is greatly missed and survived by his loving wife, Ann, daughters, Heather Hogan and Elizabeth DeMarse, son-in-law, Tom Hogan, and grandchildren, Ryan and Dylan Hogan and Diora DeMarse.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
