Richard Frederick Rendall

September 2, 1939 – April 27, 2026

Zephyrhills, Florida – Richard Frederick Rendall, age 86, of Zephyrhills, passed away peacefully on

April 27, 2026. Born on September 2, 1939, in South Bend, Indiana, he was the son of the late

Frederick Rendall and the late LaVon Klinghammer (née Jones).

A proud graduate of James Whitcomb Riley High School in South Bend (Class of 1957), Richard met

his future wife, Sandra, while in high school. They married on June 11, 1960, and shared 65 wonderful

years together until her passing on January 29, 2026.

Richard’s entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic shaped his career. He trained as a pharmacist

before helping run and eventually purchase Sandra’s family pet store in South Bend. In the early 1970s

they sold the business, and he joined the corporate team at Circus World Toy Stores. Around 1980, the

couple opened a bicycle shop in Howell, Michigan. He later held management roles with ACO

Hardware stores across Michigan. In 1983, he started a carpet cleaning division that grew into

Rendall’s Cleaning in Livingston County. In the late 1990s he worked in commercial real estate before

retiring in the early 2000s. He and Sandra moved to Zephyrhills, Florida, in the mid-2000s, where he

served many years on the board of the Valleydale Resident-Owned Community and later as president.

Richard was a man of few words who rarely raised his voice. He possessed a warm personality, quiet

strength, and no-nonsense approach that earned the deep respect and affection of everyone who knew

him. Those closest to him treasured his steady presence, dry humor, and unwavering dedication to

family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Sandra, his parents, and his younger brother Jerry

Rendall (surviving wife June) of Melbourne, Florida.

Richard is survived by his sister, Peggy Henderson of South Bend, Indiana; his sons, Scott (wife

Sunny) Rendall and Eric Rendall, both of Howell, Michigan; his grandchildren, Michael Rendall of

Brighton, Michigan, and Jackie Streu (husband Justin) of Whitmore Lake, Michigan; his great-

grandchildren, August Streu and Evelyn Streu; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family

members.
