IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Larry
Moore
July 23, 1942 – February 14, 2025
Richard Larry Moore, 82, of Spring Hill, Florida passed peacefully surrounded by family on February 14th, 2025. Richard was born in Dunedin, Florida on July 23rd, 1942 to parents Walter and Lillie Moore. Richard married his beloved wife Gail Anne Hess in a union that speaks for their relationship: it was truly just special. They enjoyed 60 years together, having two children: Tamara Marie Moore Smith (Ricky Lee) and Richard Adam Moore (Jonalyn M.) where Richard made a profound impact as a devoted father. Tamara and Richard were not his only children, however, as Richard had many more related not by blood, but by choice. Richard was the grandfather of 6 grandchildren: Derek, Devin (Sophie), Daniel, and Alexander Moore and Luke and Camilla Smith. Richard also had two great grandchildren, Machlan and Maddox Moore. Richard has left behind a beautiful legacy of love, light, and laughter with his family and all who knew him. These sentiments are echoed in the words of his wife, Gail and his daughter, Tamara.
After Richard's passing, Gail shared:
Yesterday afternoon the love of my life for 60 years closed his eyes for the last time. It was yesterday on Valentine's Day morning that I received a bouquet of flowers with a single red rose from him through our daughter Tami. The card read "You are surrounded with love from family and friends and the single rose represents my love for you." Richard
This morning, I found a card about a red rose that I had for years but had forgotten about. Although what the card mentions a silk rose, I will always apply it to the fresh red rose he sent me.
"The red rose has always symbolized love, a nd this silk red rose will always remain just as red as it is today, just as the love you have shared with your loved one will always remain. Love is eternal."
Sleep well my love and someday I will join you to spend eternity with you and our Lord.
Your wife, Gail
Tamara weighed in on how impactful Richard was as a father, highlighting:
On the day for love Our Father gave His family His last final earth bound gift. He passed away peacefully with family. As We are feeling sorrow that He is gone. We are also happy that He is not suffering anymore. Our Father was always a hands on Man. The one You called on when You needed help. In His own way He let His family know how much He LOVED them even if the words did not always come out of His mouth. A great friend and made great jokes. Strong. Loved his Mother and Sister Lora to no end. This world lost a great Man but We will always carry him in our hearts and mind. Dad go find you a nice fishing hole with Booboo and Trixie and wait for Mom to join you. We will protect Mom now for you till She joins you in heaven.
Love always, Us.
Richard is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Lillie Moore, as well as his sisters Barbara Jean Peoples, and Lora Ann Moore.
