Lyon, Richard Erwin (AKA Razor), 86, went home to be with His Lord and Savior on January 27, 2021. He was born in Mount Pleasant, Michigan to Phyllis Morrison and Norman Lyon on August 23, 1934. He has one sister, Joanne Camp (deceased). He is now reunited with 2 sons, Richie and Corey; and his best friend and father in law, Louie Price. Richard attended Mount Pleasant, Michigan High School as an outstanding athlete where he got his nickname "Razor" and 2 years at Central Michigan University before entering the Navy from 1954 to 1956. He was in the Navy reserves for several years before and after. He and wife Elizabeth Kalmbach met in college and were married on December 23, 1955 in Newport News, Virginia. They were married 65 years and had 4 children, Lisa Ann Davis (Fred), Michael Lee (Karie), Richard Lee (Bobbie), and Corey Robert. He has 4 grandchildren, Jillian Ciano(Mark), Jesse Mattson, Derek Lyon, and Erin Lyon. He also has one great grandson, Tristen Ciano. He retired from Met Life in 1990 after a highly successful career as an award winning Senior Sales Representative. Then he worked as a Baker for a Meijer Store in Flint, Michigan until they moved to Zephyrhills, Florida where he continued to work in the cafeteria of an Elementary School. He retired from there in 2016. Richard was a faithful active member of Victory Baptist Church in Zephyrhills. He was a life member of the VFW Linden Michigan Post 4642. He was an avid four season Fisherman and a self taught Master Chef. His family and friends will surely miss his Culinary skills. Richard leaves many friends and a wonderful loving church and Christian family. Those desiring to donate in his memory can do so to the Gideons or Samaritan's Purse or your own charity.
