Rebecca Beth Melton, age 54, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, in Brooksville, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. Beth was born to Jim and Peggy Tyree on March 29, 1971, in Richmond, Indiana and lived out her school years in Dade City, Florida. She is survived by her devoted husband, Joe Melton; children, Clint, Ben, Chloe; father, Jim Tyree; sisters, Julie Cash, and Lori (Doug) Lynch; niece, Peyton Cash; and all adoring members of the Melton Family.

Beth was a life-long learner with degrees in Psychology, Education, Accounting and Social Work. A devoted mother and teacher, centered in faith, she was determined to create a hybrid homeschool experience that met the needs of her children and other homeschoolers. In 2013, Beth founded the Darby Christian Academy, where she served as the acting director for 11 years. During her tenure, additional teachers were hired as enrollment grew from 7 to 60 students. In addition to her role at DCA, Beth used her accounting skills to provide bookkeeping services for Jack Melton Family, Inc. and other organizations. When not in school or working, Beth loved making memories with her family by traveling with them to new locations throughout the country. Beth will be remembered for her love of family, patience, kindness, and how she enriched the lives of countless others through her determination and leadership guided by her faith.

A celebration of life will be held on September 6, 2025 at Hodges Family Funeral Home, in Dade City at 3:00 p.m. with a reception following at the Darby Community Church, 14745 Bellamy Brothers Blvd., Dade City, FL 33525. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Darby Christian Academy, with the same address as the church.
