Raymond J. Duffy, Sr., 68, of Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away on Friday, October, 3, 2013. Born in Bronx, New York to John and Mary Duffy he lived most of his life in between New York and New Jersey before he would settle into his golden years in Zephyrhills Florida in 1999. Raymond was a was a tireless and well respected worker who started his career working as shoe salesman before accepting a position with Dean Witter where he invested 21 years of his life. He worked various positions and quickly rose up the corporate ladder to 1st Vice President of Fixed Income Operations. He ended his career at Citibank in Tampa FL. In his spare time he enjoyed splitting his time between FL and NJ to spend time with who mattered most to him, his family and friends, playing golf, listening to music and enjoying life.Raymond was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife of 42 years, Maryann. Ray was an extremely loving and proud father of his three children, Raymond Duffy, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth, of New Jersey, Joseph Duffy of Florida, and Melissa Ryan and her late husband Chris, of New Jersey. He was also a fantastic Poppie to his 6 grandchildren, Tyler Duffy, Connor Duffy, Brendan Duffy, Rhiannon Ryan and Emma Duffy. A brother to 17 siblings, he is also survived by his sisters Veronica, Barbara and Deborah of Georgia and his two brothers Kenny and his wife Karen of North Carolina and Frank and his wife Karen of Georgia and his sister-in-law Francis Haverkost of New York; as well as his many loving nieces, nephews and other friends.The family will receive friends on Monday, October 7, from 4:00 until 7:00 PM followed by a Chapel Service on Tuesday, 12:00PM at the Hodges Family Funeral home 36327 Hwy 54 Zephyrhills FL 33541.
