Raymond R. Bohannon Sr., 94, of Zephyrhills, passed away April 2, 2017. He was born in Cork, FL and was a 1942 graduate of Hillsborough High School in Tampa. He was a proud long-standing member of Ironworkers Local 397 in Tampa since 1942 and helped build many of the prominent buildings and power plants in the area over the years. Raymond was a WWII Veteran who enjoyed a simple life- fishing, hunting, camping, gardening, telling stories, watching football and old western on TV, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He is predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Betty Jean; parents; 12 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son, Raymond Robert, Jr (Patty); grandson, Christopher (Syndy); great-granddaughter, Alexis; sister-in-law, Judy Ann Griffin (John); brother-in-law, Jerry Smith (Rosemary) and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell next to his wife, Betty Jean. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gulfside Hospice or the American Heart Association.
