Ralph C. Sebastian, 89, passed onto Glory on Monday, November 6, 2023 at his home under Hospice care. Born on March 26, 1934 in Stuthers, Ohio to Patsy and Florence Sebastian (now deceased). He attended Struthers schools and served in the Army in Texas and Germany. He owned a milk route for the Petersburg Dairy, Petersburg, Ohio and later retired after 33 years from Wean United Foundries. Where he was a foundry leader. When moving to Zephyrhills, Florida in 1998, he worked at the Saddlebrook Resort for 20 years with the grounds department, only retiring after he broke his femur. Always known to be a hard worker, he wanted to work longer even at 84.
Survivors include his beloved wife the former, Elaine Vozel, whom he married in 1965. He also leaves behind two daughters: Lisa (Scott) Sylvester of Land O Lakes, Jodi (Todd) Mark of Lutz and son-in- law, Steven Smith of Tampa. Four grandchildren, whom he always was involved with their activities even when on a cane and walker struggling to get to the sidelines to cheer them on: Kaylin Sylvester (swimming) Jordan (Michaela Curly), Mark (tennis), Jeremy Sylvester (soccer), and Sabrina Smith (flag football).Two brothers: Pat (Garnet) Sebastian of Dayton, Ohio and James (Marge) Sebastian of Poland, OH. Loving in-laws: Frank (Sally) Vozel Jr., Nancy (Bob) Kosic and Jack (Debbie) Vozel. Numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. All will miss him terribly especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas, where he was famous for his meatballs and sauce and Italian wedding soup.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Kerri Sebastian-Smith; his brother: Sam (Violet) Sebastian and two sisters: Jeannette (Pat) Petrock and Viola (Mario) Silvestri; Father, and mother-in-law: Frank and Frances Vozel; and sister-in-law: Dr. Carole Vozel. Ralph was the family prayer warrior. He was known for his love of The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, special love of his family and true friend of many who knew him. Always serene and happy and smiling even until the end.
Visitation will be 10-12 noon Monday, November 13th at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 36327 SR 54 Zephyrhills, Fl 33541 followed by funeral services at 12 Noon with his good friend Evangelist Anthony Norman, Sr, of Dade City presiding. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell with Military Honors.
