Phillip Joseph Grove, 68, died Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Advent Hospital in Zephyrhills, FL. Born October 4, 1950, in Hanover, PA, Phil is survived by his heart broken wife, Jean M. Grove; two sons, Phillip J. Grove, II and James E. Grove; two daughters in law, Wealthy and Bridgett; four grandchildren, Brandon, Nate, Sara and Riley; his mother, Lillian Grove; mother in law, Myrtle Briggs; and a number of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a daughter, "Wendy." While we could give you cold, hard facts about Phils life, those of us who loved him would rather you know this: he was the light of his wifes life and vice versa. Phil could and would light up a room with his infectious smile and witty humor. In his younger days, most would know him as a "motor head" who loved fast cars and motorcycles. Throughout his life he would come to own many motorcycles, including his last orange trike that he leaves behind. For most of his life, Phil worked as a truck driver, up until last year when he fell ill. He absolutely enjoyed classic county and boy did he have an incredible voice while singing those songs. Though many know him as a lot of things, the love he shared for his family would be the most significant and admirable. He had a strong love for his sons, daughters in law and grandchildren that will be forever valued. Phil always lived life to the absolute fullest, never having any regrets and cherishing the one he loved and adored the most; his best friend, confidant, biggest fan, partner in crime, devoted loving wife, Jean. Through 49 wonderful years, they shared a love, as his son, Jim, would say, like "Johnny and June." He will be forever and deeply missed by many, including his youngest "son," Boo. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Stoverstown, PA, from 2 to 4 pm. A small memorial will be held in Zephyrhills, FL, and will be announced at a later time.
