During his lifetime, he was admitted into Intertel. Intertel is a high-IQ society founded in 1966 that is open to those who have scored at or above the 99th percentile, or the top one percent, on a standardized test of intelligence. It has been identified as one of the notable high-IQ societies with admission requirements that are stricter and more exclusive than Mensa.

Philip holds three BA degrees: Science, Engineering, and Zoology. Following graduation, he was employed by Boing in various locations including Mountain View, California, Seattle, Washington, and the Boston Space Center in New Hampshire. Near the end of his career, Philip relocated to Florida to be with his mother, following his time at NASA’s Cape Canaveral.

Philip and Ginger Marks married on June 16, 2001, and made their home in Clearwater, Florida. They were married for almost 25 years. Together, they attended Hope Presbyterian Church in Largo, Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Ginger, and his sister, Norma Marks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril Scott (Dorothy) Marks and Kathryn Hines (Robert) Sinclair.

The Marks family sincerely appreciates the prayers, visits, and numerous acts of kindness extended during this difficult time.
