Obituary

Phillip B. Hied passed peacefully on July 24th, 2024, at his home in Ridge Manor, Florida with family by his side. Born on September 11th, 1953, in Amherst, Ohio to his parents Robert E Hied and Phyllis J (Cozad) Hied. He had three siblings, David Hied, Elizabeth A (Hied) Johnson, and Michael A. Hied. Phil graduated from Spring Grove Area High School in 1972 and Married his High School Sweetheart Mary M (Moffitt) Hied on August 26th of the same year. They built a great life and an incredible family in their 51 years of Marriage. Phil was drawn to service and although health conditions prevented him from entering military service. He still found his way to public service working for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement in the Department of Corrections where he was well known to give grace to those that worked to turn their lives around. He was always willing to help his family and those around him, and instilled good moral character in his children and taught them to always do what is right and just, often saying "If you have to look over your shoulder dont do it". Those that knew Phil will always remember his famous saying, "I got it all mapped out" when working on a project. Whether it was transporting a plane over the road 700 miles, working on a car, fixing something around the house, or helping friends and family. He loved his family and friends dearly. He is survived by his spouse Mary (Moffitt) Hied of Ridge Manor, Florida. His daughter Amanda J (Hied) Price and her spouse Michael D. Price of Dade City, Florida. His Son Phillip Adam Hied and his spouse Kaley M. Hied from Palm Bay, Florida. He has two grandchildren, Olivia P. Price and Tyler K. Price who were priceless in his eyes. Phil had numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whom he loved dearly. May you rest in peace knowing you are in the arms of Jesus. You are forever in our hearts. We will always love and miss you.
