Philip Salvatore Rinaldi, 82, a lifelong resident of San Antonio, FL, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2024, at his home in Anniston, AL. He was born on November 17, 1941, in Tampa, FL, to Augustus and Nancy Rinaldi.
Preceding him in death were his parents and his granddaughter, Kaylee Marie (daughter of Christine). Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 55 years, Barbara (Bross) Rinaldi; his children, Christine (Scott), Karen (Teddy), Kathy, and Anthony (Candice); his eight grandchildren, Brandi (Wesley), Jordan, Colton, Nicole (Matthew), Bristol, Kas, Ethan G., and Aspen; his six step-grandchildren, Beth (Taylor), Brittany (Justin), Kaitlyn (Gavin), Brenden, Ethan L., and Demitrius; one great granddaughter, Kinsley Rae (Bristol); and his ten step-great grandchildren, Gracie, Mayer, Byrdie and Sophie (Beth), Raegan and Scout (Brittany), DJ, Tre, and Tesina (Demitrius), and Charlotte (Kaitlyn).
Philip lost his father in 1959 when he was just 17 years old and assumed the role to help his mother raise his younger siblings, who are now also left to cherish his memory, Ernesta "Tina," Sr Mary, Louis (Betsy), Eugenia "Jeanie" (Arthur), Caesar, and Josephine and Philip had one stepbrother, Richard Romine (Peggy).
If you knew Philip, you never saw him without a smile on his face, and you knew he bled green and yellow. John Deere was a huge part of Philip (with one "l")'s life. He was a grove owner and spent many years working in grove service for others in the area. He took great pride in raising his Hereford cattle. He was a dedicated member of the San Antonio, FL, Volunteer Fire Department and went on to serve in the Dade City, FL, Fire Department. After his career ended with the DCFD he spent many years selling John Deere tractors.
Philip was a very hard-working man, but he always had time for his family. He enjoyed taking family vacations to Maggie Valley, NC, Ormond Beach, FL, and Walt Disney World. His children truly believed that he was their Super Man.
A Rosary will be held at St Leo Abbey on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 9:00 a.m., with funeral service following at 9:30 a.m., interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery on Palm St in San Antonio, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Philip's memory to Salesian Sister's Retirement: 659 Belmont Ave, North Haledon, NJ 07508.
