Perry Lee Cain, 69 years old, formerly of Salem and Lost Creek WV, passed away on June 19,2025 at his home in SanAntonio Florida with his wife Linda by his side. Perry has suffered several years from many medical conditions which contributed to his death., He was the son of the late Grover L. Cain and Martha Reed Cain, formerly of Salem, WV.
Perry was a graduate of Liberty H.S. Clarksburg, WV in 1974. He received his BS degree in Religion and Philosophy from Salem College , graduating cum laude in 1977. He also studied abroad in Europe during his education at Salem College. He further obtained his Master of Divinity and Pastorial ministry at the Methodist Theological School in Ohio, 1981
Perry was ordained a minister of the 7th Day Baptist denomination, 1981
Perry later obtained degrees from West Virginia University in Counseling and Psychology, 1988- 1990

Perry had a minor in music from Salem College, he was a member of honor society, college tour choir Salem Singers, Senior merit award. Perry and his daughter Ruthanne sang in the Madrigal Singers of Clarksburg for most of a decade. He especially enjoyed being a part of the barbershop quartet with the Salem Seventh Day church.
He loved his music and worked at it throughout his life. He played country rock music beginning back in high school and moving on to develop the band, Neon Cactus. He always talked about opening the show for Eddie Rabbit in Parkersburg, WV and then was asked to join playing with the stars band.
Later, changes came about and the group reinvented themselves as Southside Symphony playing country rock for several years. The group got together to play at a class reunion for the past 2 years in Salem, WV with members coming from California, North Caroline, Florida, and Salem. Perry made the trip to be a part of it.
He was very involved with visiting the Veterans at the Clarksburg facility. He carried on when he moved to Florida. He visited the veterans center each month and played music with a group of musicians .
Perry was married to Christina Green, Salem, WV. They had two daughters, Ruthanne Cain of Nutter Fort, WV and Mary Ellen Cain, deceased. His brother Michael Cain of Zephyrhills, Fl proceeded him in death. Perry is survived by two grandsons, Cyrus Cain Cross and JudeCross, sister Lynn Talerico and husband Louie who lived close to him in the same community in SanAntonio , Fl. His sister Patricia [Patty] McKinley lives in Chesapeake, Va.
Perry and Linda were married December 31, 1994 and were together to 2025.
Services will be on July20, 2025 at Salem Seventh Day Baptist church at 11:00 family will gather later in the day at the Elkview Cemetery at the Joyce St. exit in Clarksburg, WV. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Kenya Mission through the Salem Seventh Day Babtist Church, Salem , WV
